Random Team Generator
Paste the names, choose how many teams (or how many per team), and press Make teams. Teams come out as even as the numbers allow.
Two ways to split
- Number of teams: "4 teams" from 18 people gives two teams of 5 and two of 4.
- People per team: "3 per team" from 14 people gives five teams, sized 3 or 2, so no one is left on their own.
Press Make teams again for a fresh split. Your list stays in the box (and on this device) so you can reuse it next week.
Good uses
- Group work in class without the usual friends-only teams.
- Five-a-side, trivia nights, workshops and team-building games.
- Pairs for code review, study partners or a buddy system: set "2 per team".
Fair by design
The list is shuffled with your browser's cryptographic random number generator, then dealt into teams like cards, one at a time. Every arrangement is equally likely. Details on how it works.
